Refund & Cancellation Policy

rowbo.dev · Tom Rowbotham & Phoebe Tan · London, United Kingdom · Last updated 19 August 2026

This policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for rowbo.dev (operated by Tom Rowbotham & Phoebe Tan, London, United Kingdom). It should be read together with our Terms of Service.

1. The £30/month subscription

Go Live is a £30/month subscription (building and publishing your site, plus hosting, updates and support). There is no setup fee. The subscription is cancellable at any time - from your site editor (Billing) or by emailing tom@rowbo.dev - and cancellation stops future renewals. Your site stays live until the end of the period you have already paid for. Monthly fees already paid for the current period are generally non-refundable, but we will always look at individual circumstances fairly.

2. UK 14-day cancellation right

Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, consumers normally have 14 days to cancel a services contract bought at a distance. Because your site is built and published immediately, by ticking the consent box at checkout you request that we begin that service right away. As a goodwill matter, if you cancel within 14 days of your first payment and let us know, we will refund that first month. This does not affect your other statutory rights. The one exception is where we also register a domain for you at sign-up (including a domain included in your plan) - see section 3a: in that case the first month and the domain are non-refundable once your site is live, because we have registered a real domain and started the service immediately with your express consent.

3. Domains you buy through us

If you buy a domain name through rowbo.dev, that domain is non-refundable once it has been registered. Registration is completed immediately with the domain registry on your behalf and cannot be undone or resold, so it falls outside the 14-day cancellation right - an exception under regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for goods made to your specification and services fully performed. We charge you only the registrar’s price, with no mark-up. Before paying for a domain you are asked to tick a box confirming that you understand it is non-refundable and that you waive the 14-day cancellation right for that domain. The domain is yours: you can point it wherever you like and transfer it to another provider at any time. This is separate from your £30/month subscription, which remains cancellable at any time as described above.

3a. A domain included in your plan (registered at sign-up)

Your plan can include a domain: when you sign up you can pick a domain and we register it for you as part of going live. A standard domain is included at no extra charge; a premium domain (a sought-after or specially-priced name) is shown with a clear one-time yearly price, billed once alongside your first month - you own that domain and keep it even if you later cancel.

Because we publish your site and register a real domain immediately, at checkout you give express consent in these words: “Publish my site now and register my domain - I understand my service starts immediately, so the first month and the domain aren’t refundable once it’s live.” The first month and the domain are therefore non-refundable once your site is live - this is the immediate-service and made-to-order exception under regulation 28 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, not a blanket “no refunds”. After that first month, the normal monthly terms apply: cancel any time, no further charges. An included domain renews while you stay subscribed (there is no separate domain charge); if you cancel, it is not renewed, but you can transfer it out while it is still active. A premium domain you have paid the year for is yours to keep and transfer whenever you like.

4. Failed payments

If a subscription payment fails, we allow a grace period of around 14 days for you to update your payment details before your site may be suspended. We will let you know if a payment has failed.

5. Data after cancellation

After you cancel, we retain your site data for up to 30 days in case you wish to reactivate, and then delete it (except records we are legally required to keep, such as billing records). Your own content always remains yours to take elsewhere.

5. How to cancel or request a refund

You can cancel your subscription yourself at any time from your site editor (Billing). To request a refund, email tom@rowbo.dev from the address on your account, telling us what you would like to cancel or refund. We aim to respond promptly and to treat every request fairly.
